another poor standby solution

This capacitive touch sensor allows almost any small metal object to become a touch switch, controlling a variety of electrical devices via a 10 Amp rated SPDT relay. The device works by detecting the change in capacitance that occurs when a person touches a connected metal object — the "electrode." With proper design of your sensing electrode, this unit can even detect proximity, or "near touch," through a variety of dielectrics such as plastic, wood, glass, or air.
This unit features automatic recalibration, eliminating the possibility of a "stuck on" sensor. In addition to automatic recalibration, the sensitivity (gain) level can be selected to operate in either a low or high range, and the output may be configured for momentary output or latching "toggle" outputs. The unit comes encapsulated in a sturdy plastic enclosure with integrated mounting feet standard.
